We are told, in the Bible that Jesus is the son of God
(John 3:16- “For God so loved the world, that He gave is only SON”…)
God didn’t spare anything for us. He gave us his all and his best.
Jesus is the only religious leader to ever claim to be God and to claim that He was the only way to his Father in heaven
(John 14:6- “I am the way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through me.”)
We are told, in the Bible that Jesus is the son of God
(John 3:16- “For God so loved the world, that He gave is only SON”…)
John 3:16 also tells us, “For God so loved the world, that He GAVE his only son…”)
God cares so much for you that He gave us a gift in his son. Christianity is the only “religion” where the leader does something for us. Other religions tell us to do something in order to reach a level worthy of god, but God came down to us in the form of His son-Jesus.
“For God so loved the world that He gave his only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Jesus cares about everything you have faced, are facing now, and will ever face. He cares about your marriage, your decisions and about your family. He cares so much for you that he willingly gave his own life to save yours.
I love the promise God makes to those who receive Jesus as their Savior.
2 Corinthians 5:7 tells us, “If anyone belongs to Christ he has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
Jesus is so amazing that He gives us a new life, a new start, a new mind and a new heart. This doesn’t mean we get transplants, but that Jesus gives us new ways to think, to act, to believe, talk, and to live our lives.
Romans 10:9-10 “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and itis by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.”
Maybe you’ve heard about Jesus and know a little about him, but you don’t really know Him like you would like to? The easiest way to begin knowing about Jesus is to start a relationship with Him. The easiest way to start that relationship is to say a simple prayer. Prayer is just having a conversation with Jesus. You can do this wherever you are! Seriously, wherever you are. Here is a sample prayer that you can say out loud and begin a relationship with Jesus. There is nothing magical about this prayer, so you can really make up your own prayer.
PRAYER:
Jesus, I have sinned against you and I recognize my sin. I repent (turn from and turn to) from my sin and I turn and follow you. I ask that you will forgive me of my sins and change my life. Thank you for your forgiveness. Help me to live this new life you have freely given me in Jesus. I pray this in Jesus name.
-Amen
If you just prayed that prayer, for the first time in your life, we want to celebrate with you. If you will take a moment and fill out a couple of details. We would love to send you something to encourage you and to help you in your new found faith. This is the greatest and most important decision you will ever make. You are a brand new person. We are so proud of you and thank you for responding to this amazing invitation.
No matter where you are in your faith journey, we want to make it easy for you to connect with the City Church family and to find the abundant life God designed you for.
